ACS 0031 Anaesthesia

Publication Date: September 2007

ICD 10 AM Edition: Fifth edition

Retired Date: 30/6/2013

Query Number: 2342

Is there a sequencing order for anaesthetic codes? It is clear there is a hierarchy within conduction and cerebral anaesthesia (only code the first in the hierarchy), but if you have one conduction and one cerebral anaesthetic, do they have to be in a particular order?

Response

The VICC advises that because no sequencing order is specified in ACS 0031 Anaesthesia in regard to [1910] Cerebral anaesthesia and [1909] Conduction anaesthesia, they do not have to be assigned in a particular order.
