PRS/2 triggers a warning in regard to principal diagnosis Z00.6 Examination for normal comparison and control in clinical research programme which I assign when our oncology patients are admitted for blood tests etc. in relation to their clinical drug trial.
If this is not correct could you please advise the correct principal diagnosis to assign?

Response
Provided the episodes meet one of the criteria for admission as detailed in section 2 of the VAED manual under Criteria for Admission, in accordance with ACS 0026 Admission for clinical trial, drug challenge or therapeutic drug monitoring, it is appropriate to assign Z00.6 Examination for normal comparison and control in clinical research programme as the principal diagnosis.
