Helicobacter found. No gastritis found. What should the principal diagnosis be?

Search Details:
ACS 1122 Helicobacter/Campylobacter states that H Pylori should only be coded when in the presence of another condition, but when it is the only reason for admission and the only thing found I'm not sure how to code it.

Response

Unless you can obtain clarification from a clinician regarding more specificity about the reason for the endoscopy, the VICC suggests assigning Z22.3 Carrier of other specified bacterial disease as principal diagnosis.

B96.81 Helicobacter pylori [H. pylori] as the cause of diseases classified to other chapters would not be assigned as an additional diagnosis, as it has not been documented in association with another condition.
